Is Borough Park safe?

Borough Park is generally considered a very safe, family-oriented neighborhood, one of the more settled and tight-knit communities in Brooklyn. Home to a large, close community with strong institutions and constant street activity around its shops and synagogues, it has low crime across most blocks and a strong sense of order and mutual support. As with any neighborhood, common-sense awareness is sensible, but Borough Park is widely regarded as one of the safer, most community-oriented places to live in the borough.
