Is Canarsie in Brooklyn or Queens?

Canarsie is in Brooklyn. It sits in the southeastern part of the borough, along Jamaica Bay, bordered by East Flatbush and Brownsville to the north, Flatlands to the west, and the bay to the south. The confusion sometimes arises because it is far from central Brooklyn and near the Queens border and Jamaica Bay, but Canarsie is firmly a Brooklyn neighborhood. It is served by the L train, which terminates at Rockaway Parkway in the heart of the neighborhood.
