Is Coney Island in Brooklyn or Queens?

Coney Island is in Brooklyn. It sits at the southern tip of the borough, on a peninsula along the Atlantic Ocean, bordered by Brighton Beach to the east and Sea Gate to the west. The confusion sometimes arises because it is far from central Brooklyn and is best known as a beach and amusement destination, but it is firmly a Brooklyn neighborhood. It is the southern terminus of several subway lines, including the D, F, N, and Q, connecting it north through Brooklyn and into Manhattan.
