Is Cypress Hills safe?

Cypress Hills is a residential neighborhood on Brooklyn's northeastern edge, and safety varies block by block, as in many neighborhoods in transition. Much of it consists of quiet streets of rowhouses and two-family homes with a strong, family-oriented immigrant community and high homeownership, while some areas remain more challenged. Crime has trended down over the years. Common-sense awareness is sensible, as anywhere, but many residents find Cypress Hills a settled, community-minded place to live.
