Is DUMBO in Brooklyn or Manhattan?

DUMBO is in Brooklyn. The neighborhood sits on the Brooklyn side of the East River, directly under the Manhattan Bridge, which is where its name comes from: Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass. It borders Brooklyn Heights and Vinegar Hill and connects to Manhattan by the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges, the F train, and the NYC Ferry. The confusion is understandable given its skyline views and proximity, but DUMBO is firmly a Brooklyn neighborhood.
