Is DUMBO safe?

DUMBO is considered one of the safest neighborhoods in Brooklyn. Once an industrial district, it is now an affluent, well-patrolled area with a heavy presence of doorman buildings, tech offices, and Brooklyn Bridge Park foot traffic that keeps the cobblestone streets active into the evening. Serious crime is rare, and the waterfront and main corridors around Front, Water, and Main Streets feel secure day and night. Safety is one of the reasons DUMBO commands some of the highest residential prices in the borough.
