Is Dyker Heights an Italian neighborhood?

Dyker Heights has a strong and enduring Italian-American heritage, and it remains one of the most identifiably Italian neighborhoods in Brooklyn, reflected in its restaurants, bakeries, social clubs, and its famous Christmas light tradition. In recent decades it has also grown more diverse, with a significant and growing Chinese community and other groups. Today Dyker Heights is best described as a diverse, family-oriented neighborhood with deep Italian-American roots that still shape much of its character and community life.
