Bensonhurst is a large neighborhood in southern Brooklyn, bordered by Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights to the west, Gravesend to the east, and Borough Park to the north. It is generally considered part of southern Brooklyn. Its main commercial corridors run along 18th Avenue, 86th Street, and Bay Parkway, and it is served by the D and N subway lines, connecting it north through Brooklyn and into Manhattan. It sits inland from the waterfront, a short distance from Coney Island and the shore.
