Where is Fort Hamilton and is it part of Bay Ridge?

Fort Hamilton is a small neighborhood at the southwestern tip of Brooklyn, next to the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, bordered by Bay Ridge to the north and Dyker Heights to the east. It takes its name from the Fort Hamilton Army Base located there. The neighborhood is closely associated with Bay Ridge and is sometimes considered part of the greater Bay Ridge area, though it has its own identity centered on the base and the surrounding residential blocks. It is served by the R train at its 95th Street terminus.
